2 injured in clash over land dispute in Kathua

Two persons, including a village head, were today injured in a clash between two groups over a piece of land in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

The clash took place at Banyari village in the Check Dessa area when the rival parties tried to take over a piece of disputed land, a police official said.

Members of the two groups attacked each other with sticks, leading to injuries to two persons, including the village head.

The injured were taken to the Government Medical College hospital here, the official said.

He said police rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control.
 

An FIR has been lodged in connection with the incident but no arrest has been made so far, the officer said.
