2 injured in clash over old enmity

Two persons were injured in a clash between two groups of transport companies at Slemtabri GT bypass road here, police said today.

Injured were identified as Inderjit Singh of Satluej Transport and Sukha of Highway Roadways. Inderjit has sustained bullet injuries, SHO Slem Tabri Police Station Maninder Bedi said.

The clash could be the result of an old enmity between the two groups over the collection of illegal 'adda' fee, police said.

All the six persons involved in the crime were arrested.A country made pistol and two sharp edged weapons have been recovered from them, the SHO said.

A case under section 307 of IPC (attempt to murder) and Arms act has been registered against them, ACP Ramnish Chaudhry said.
 

Accused were bouncers hired by the transport companies and they had criminal background, police added.
