Two persons were injured in a firing incident tonight at a tollbooth in the Narela area of outer Delhi.

Initial reports suggest that while one of the injured persons is an official at the tollbooth, the other is one of the alleged assailants. The injured duo have been identified as Sumit and Monu.

Police said they are yet to ascertain the sequence of events, which unfolded at around 8.30 P.M, and are still to record the statements of the duo.

Police added that the two were taken to a nearby hospital where their friends allegedly threatened the doctors about ensuring proper treatment.

"The doctors fled the hospital after being threatened. Thereafter, the injured were taken to a hospital in the Rohini area where their condition is now said to be stable," police said.

Footage of CCTV cameras installed at the booth is being studied and further inquiries are on, police added.
