Vigilance officials in Jammu and Kashmir today booked two Tehsil Supply Officers (TSOs) involved in misappropriation and black marketing of kerosene in Doda district.
The State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) has registered a case against TSOs Sajjad Ahmed Wani and Vikram Singh, on the basis of a verification conducted into the allegations with regard to misappropriation and black marketing of kerosene oil by the concerned officials of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CA&PD) department in Doda, an SVO officer said.
Investigations revealed that during the period of January 2013 to March 2013, the then Assistant Director CA&PD Department, Doda had allotted the recorded and sanctioned kerosene quota to the concerned TSOs which they have received and then TSO who further allotted and released it to different dealers and centres in the district, he said.

The verification further revealed that there is variation in the figures projected by the TSOs and by the centres, he said adding that the then TSOs have also misrepresented the figures, fiddled with the official record to misappropriate the kerosene meant for the use of general public.
They have thereby caused wrongful gain to themselves and corresponding wrongful loss to the state exchequer as well as to the general public, the officer said.
A search warrant was obtained from the court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption, Doda and in compliance to the search warrant a vigilance team headed by Kartar Singh, Deputy SP conducted a house search of accused Wani at Village Ghat Doda, he said.
During the search some documents were seized which are under scrutiny.
