2 JK teachers removed from posts for not marking attendance

Jammu and Kashmir government today removed two teachers from their posts for failure to mark their attendance for last eight years and attached them with the chief education office here, an official said.

Two teachers N A Quershi and Narian Baru of Zonal Education Office Satwari were found guilty of not marking their attendance during their eight-years-long postings and were removed from their posts and attached with the Chief Education Office (CEO) Jammu, he said.

The matter came to light during a surprise visit by CEO Tarsem Lal to various offices in Satwari and Miran Sahib zones in Jammu district, he said.
 

The CEO has ordered a detailed enqiury in the matter.

In another move, the CEO stopped salaries of 8 education department officials, including Zonal Education Planning Officer for absence from duty and ordered enquiry against them.
