2 juveniles held, mobile racket busted

Two juveniles, allegedly involved in a mobile phone theft racket, were arrested and 17 handsets seized from them in Odisha's Jajpur district, police said today.

Biju Purty (17) and Gelega Munda (17), both from Jogi Sahi in Vyas Nagar town, were arrested by the Jajpur Road police during vehicle check near Dhabalgiri in the town yesterday, Inspector-in-charge of Jajpur Road police station Rajiv Lochan Panda said.

The duo admitted involvement in several cases of robbery and theft of mobile handsets, he said.

They had stolen 12 new mobile handsets from a shop in Jajpur road market last week, police said.
