2 kidnappers nabbed

Bihar Police today conducted raids at different places in Nawada district and arrested two persons allegedly involved in the kidnappings of a gold trader and a Mid-Day Meal in-charge.

Nawada SP Parvez Akhtar said the raids were conducted in Hisua and Warsaliganj police station areas in the district.

The arrested persons have been identified as Navin alias Karu and Sanjay Singh. The kidnappings had taken place on October 15.

"We apprehended the abductors on the basis of intelligence inputs. Three pistols, bullets, Rs 4 lakh of ransom money, 40 SIM cards and 20 mobile phones have been seized from them," Akhtar said.
 

Another gang member, however, managed to elude the police.

Gold trader Dhananjay Verma and MDM in charge Amarjeet Kumar had been lifted from Bhadokhra village under Mufassil police station area of Nawada, while they were on way home.

The kidnappers collected Rs 50 lakh in ransom and released them near an overbridge in Nawada town.

Akhtar said police were probing if any politician was involved in the kidnapping.
