2 killed, 15 injured in accidents

One person was run over by a train, another knocked down by a mini-bus and 15 others injured in three different accidents in lower Assam's Kamrup district.

A book stall owner, Riaf Ali (22), was run over by a local passenger train at Rangia Bhatkuchi near Ghoya railway bridge and his body severed into pieces, GRP sources said.

On National Highway 37 at Chaygaon two mini buses collided headon, while a motor cycle behind one of them hit the two vehicles and turned turtle, police sources said.

The biker and 15, including three seriously, passengers of the two buses were injured, the sources said.
 

The seriously wounded were taken to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital, while the rest were admitted to local hospitals.

Again on NH-37 at Boko, a truck driver was killed on the spot by a mini bus when he was about to cross the road after parking his vehicle last night.

The driver was identified as one Nathura Sani of Bihar, the sources said, adding, his and Ali's bodies were sent for post mortem examination.
