2 killed, 35 injured as bus falls into gorge in J-K

Two persons were today killed and 35 others injured when a private passenger bus skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Budgam district of central Kashmir, police said.

The 48-seater bus was on its way to Srinagar from Raithan village when the driver lost control near Palpora village, 35 kms from here, while negotiating a curve, a police spokesperson said.

While two persons died on the spot, 35 others were injured in the accident.

Most of the injured were discharged after first aid, but eight passengers injured seriously were shifted to different hospitals in Srinagar for specialised treatment, he said.
 

The condition of three of the injured was stated to be critical, he said.
