The incident occurred when at least 10 persons were making bombs at Bagtui village under Rampurhat police station.
While two persons were killed on the spot, seven were injured seriously and they were admitted to Rampurhat hospital, the sources said.
Unofficial sources said the number of deaths in the explosion was more than two.
