The truck carrying motorcycles was on its way to Lucknow when its wheel got stuck in a pit, after which a crane was employed to get it out, police said.
The crane suddenly overturned, crushing three locals who had come to help, out of which Satish Naagar (30) died on the spot, they said.
Sanjay and Neeraj were rushed to hospital in critical condition, they said, adding, Sanjay succumbed.
Following the mishap, there was a traffic jam on Kanpur- Lucknow highway, which took four hours to sort out, they said.
Both bodies were sent for postmortem and probe into incident is on, they said.
