Some persons in a car fired at an undertrial, Manoj, who was being taken to a local court for hearing, at Sation Chowk in Sadar Bazar area, police said.
Manoj and two other persons, including a woman, were injured in the attack.
All were rushed to a hospital, where Manoj and an unidentified person were declared brought dead and condition of the woman was stated to be stable, police said.
Taking note of the incident three constables Devanand, Santlal and Shivshankar accompanying the undertrial were suspended.
A manhunt to nab the assailants was launched.
