Two persons were killed and one injured and stranded when the van they were travelling in fell into a gorge near Thirot here today.
Raj and Amar Singh were killed in the incident near Thirot on Udaipur-Thirot road, while the van's owner Prem Nath has been injured and stranded in the gorge.
Efforts are on to rescue Nath and a helicopter would sent to the spot tomorrow to evacuate him, Lahaul and Spiti Deputy Commissioner Bir Singh Thakur said.
In another incident, three persons were trapped in snow near Rohtang Pass and a rescue team headed by the SDM has been sent to the spot to rescue them, he said.
Meanwhile, the Rohtang Pass which received over 100 cm of snowfall has been closed for vehicular traffic. The Manali-Leh highway was also closed due to heavy snow.
