Two persons, including a girl, were killed in separate landslides here today.
An octogenarian was killed when a sudden landslide buried his house at Pub Sarania hill, district deputy commissioner M Angamathu said.
In Noonmati Nijarapar area of the city, a class IV girl student was buried in another landslide which came crashing on her house.

Three other girls who were with her, however, escaped unhurt, police said adding they were rescued by the force personnel, state disaster response force and locals.
The DC said Rs 4 lakh would be paid as compensation to the next of kin of the deceased.
Stating that immediate restoration of power in the affected areas was a priority, Angamathu said Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) and Guwahati Municipal Development Authority (GMDA) will examine the illegal constructions on the hills which were causing landslides.
The local people have alleged that large scale illegal and unscientific earth cutting on hills in the city are causing landslides endangering the life of people living there.
