At least two persons were killed and about 12 others injured when a bomb went off outside a Shia prayer hall in Peshawar city of northwest Pakistan today, police and witnesses said.

The blast occurred outside an 'imambargah' at Imamia Colony in Peshawar this evening.

Police officials said the bomb, attached to a motorcycle parked in the area, was detonated by remote control.

Two persons were killed by the blast.

Footage on television showed the injured, including young boys and old men, being taken into a nearby hospital.

Security forces cordoned off the site of the blast and prevented people from approaching the area.

No group claimed responsibility for the incident, the latest in a string of attacks targeting the minority Shia sect.
