Two persons were today killed in rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh where major rivers like the Ganga and the Yamuna continued to be in spate.
According to the state relief commissioner's office, one person each was killed in the flood-affected districts of Ghazipur and Ballia. More than 160 people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents in the state this monsoon.
Central Water Commission sources said that the Ganga was flowing close to danger levels all along the route between Fatehgarh and Ballia.

But at Phaphamau (Allahabad), Varanasi, Ghazipur and Ballia, the river had breached the red mark, sources said.
The Yamuna, meanwhile, was flowing above the red mark at Naini (Allahabad) while the Sharda was above the red mark at Palia Kalan.
MeT office sources said that light to moderate rain and thundershowers occurred at isolated places over the state.
While Ghorwal received 50mm rainfall, Allahabad and Banda each saw showers measuring 40mm followed by Mirzapur and Chandauli (30mm each).
