2 killed in road accident in Kashmir

A motorcylist and his pillion rider were today killed after being hit by a speedy truck in Shopian district of south Kashmir, police said.

Mohammad Amin Teli (48) and Aakash Ahmad Bhat were moving on a motorcycle when they were hit by a private truck near their village Harmain in Shopian town, 55 kms from here, a police official said.

He said both the persons died on the spot and their bodies were later moved to district hospital Shopian.

The driver fled the scene in his truck after the accident but efforts are on to identify him and bring him to book, he said.
 

The spokesman said a case has been registered in this regard.
