Two persons were killed and another seriously injured when lightning struck them at Amta in Howrah district this afternoon.
Police said the father-son duo, having taken shelter under a jackfruit tree during a thunderstorm, died on the spot after lightning struck the tree.
Another person, standing nearby, received burn injuries and was shifted to Howrah District Hospital from Amta Hospital, police said.
