Two labourers died of asphyxiation after going down to clear a defunct underground oil tank of a petrol pump in Habra area today.
A senior police officer said the duo were brought out in an unconscious state shortly after they went underground and rushed to a local hospital where doctors said they had already expired and cited the possible reason as asphyxiation.
The officer said a case of causing death due to negligence has been filed against the owner of the pump and he will be arrested soon.
