Authorities have sealed two medical shops outside G B Pant Children's Hospital here for operating without authorisation and selling expired medicines.

"The shops were sealed yesterday as they were operating unauthorisedly and one of them was found selling expired medicines," Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr Shafqat Khan told PTI today.

He said following the complaints about one of the medical store selling expired medicines, he had asked the Drug and Food Control Organisation officials to seal these outlets.

Khan said the shops were served notice already as they had come up unauthorisedly.

G B Pant Hospital was in news a few years ago due to high infant mortality rate which led to an uproar and protests.
