2 more cops held in connection with arms seizure case in J-K

Two more police personnel have been arrested in connection with the seizure of Chinese-made pistols and ammunition in Rajouri district, taking the total number of arrests made in the case to four.

The accused, identified as Mohammad Yousuf and Bashir, were arrested yesterday in connection with the case in which two cops were nabbed in the district on September 4 after they were allegedly found in possession of such weapons, they said.

Acting on a specific input, a police team of SOG led by Deputy SP Azad Sheikh recovered two Chinese-made pistols, two magazines and four live rounds from the possession of Ishfaq Ahmed and Mohd Zakheer.
 

Meanwhile, all the four are being sent to Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) in Jammu, police said.

A case has already been registered in this connection while the further probes are on, he added.
