2 more swine flu deaths, toll touches 5 in Uttarakhand

Swine flu claimed the lives of two more persons in Uttarakhand as the death toll rose to five in the state.

According to Health department sources, two more persons have died due to the H1N1 virus in the last 24 hours.

Bibi Singhal (89) today died in a private hospital here. She was admitted to the hospital on June 30 with symptoms of swine , they said.

Besides her, 82-year-old Santosh, a resident of Hrishikesh, yesterday breathed her last. She was admitted to the hospital on July 10.

Health department DG Dr D S Rawat had recently directed all district CMOs (Chief Medical Officers) to remain on alert.
 

Rawat also told officials to publish swine flu advisories in all major newspapers to ensure that panic does not set in among people.
