Two persons were arrested in

connection with a murder in which the victim was shot dead and his head chopped off before the body being dumped in a drain at outer Delhi's Kanjhawla area.

The accused have been identified as Manoj, alias Chiku (25) and Pankaj, alias Yogi (26). Two of their accomplices, identified as Alam and Sombir, are still at large, said a senior police official.

According to police, they found a headless and nude body near the drain at Kanjhawla on February 4, following which a case of murder and destruction of evidence was registered. The case was later transferred to the Crime Branch.

On Tuesday, the police arrested Chiku and Yogi. During interrogation, Chiku told police that the deceased, Anil, had allegedly thrashed him around three months ago, which he wanted to avenge.

Chiku then roped in Yogi, Alam and Sombir, who also had personal enmity with the deceased.

On February 4, Sombir called up Anil for a meeting where Chiku pulled out a gun and allegedly shot him dead.

Chiku, with the help of others, then chopped off Anil's head and removed clothes from his body, which was shoved inside a car and later dumped in the drain, the official said.

"Efforts are on to nab the other accused men," he added.
