Two Navy officers and a civilian were booked after the car they were travelling in mowed down a pavement dweller, police said today.
The incident took place last night when the two officers and an acquaintance, allegedly in an inebriated state, were heading for the Naval base here.
One of the officers who was driving the car lost control over the vehicle and it mowed down Nandi Raju (20) at Asilmetta junction, Sub-inspector of 2 Town police station S Ramesh said.

The youth, who sustained severe head injuries, was killed on the spot, following which his father filed a complaint with the police, he said.
It is suspected that the trio was in inebriated state, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) K Prabhakar said.
Blood sample of the officer who was driving the car has been sent for medical examination to ascertain if he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, the ACP said.
A case has been registered in this connection, Ramesh said, adding the three accused are in police custody.
An investigation is underway, the Sub-inspector said.
