2 Nigerians arrested for drug smuggling

Sleuths of the Narcotic Control Bureau have arrested two Nigerians from the city and recovered 536 gm of heroin from their possession, an official said here today.

The accused have been identified as Alitumo and Ikechukwu Orji, both presently residing in Delhi, NCB zonal director Kaustubh Sharma said here.

"The two Nigerians were arrested last night while they were travelling in a car near a roundabout here," he said.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the two were involved in cloth business and purchased material from Tamil Nadu and sold it in Delhi, he said.

They were in drug smuggling for the past three years, he said, adding that they were allegedly supplying drugs from Delhi to Chandigarh.
 

He said the international value of the heroin seized from the duo is Rs 10 lakh.
