Two Nigerians have been arrested for allegedly duping a Rajasthani woman of Rs 56 lakh, the police said today.

Four persons, including a woman, have already been arrested in this connection last month.

The two Nigerians were arrested from Delhi yesterday, SP Bikaner Sawai Singh said.

The woman, Nitu Sharma, came into contact with a man introducing himself as an aircraft engineer posted in Iraq, through a matrimonial site.

The man said he wanted to settle in India after marrying with her.

He told the women that he would send 2.5 million pounds to her through a diplomatic pouch service from Iraq, Singh said.

After some time, other men, posing themselves as officials of the Iraq embassy and other agencies, began calling the woman and asked her to deposit money to different banks accounts in the name of "various clearances".

She deposited a total of Rs.56 lakh to various bank accounts, the SP said.

"The gang was being operated by the Nigerians with the help of some Indians. Four Indians were arrested last month and two Nigerians were caught in Delhi yesterday and placed under arrest. They were brought to Bikaner today," he added.
