Delhi Police seized banned cocaine and ecstasy tablets worth several lakhs rupees and arrested two Nigerian nationals and an Indian, who is a graduate from Delhi University, in two separate incidents.

The first gang, an international syndicate, was busted by the Crime Branch. The accused were identified as Okechukwu Sylverster (25) and Simranjeet Singh (26).

The police recovered around 42.5 gram of fine quality cocaine and 30 ecstasy tablets.

"Based on a tip-off, the police laid a trap near Ramesh Nagar metro station on May 8 and nabbed the duo when they approached there in a car to allegedly deliver a consignment to somebody," said Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav.

Okechukwu came to Delhi in 2011 on a tourist Visa and rented a room in west Delhi. He then started supplying cocaine and ecstasy tablets on demand to his customers outside discotheques and hotels. Simranjeet reportedly met Okechukwu in a pub six months ago and joined him.

"Simranjeet is a commerce graduate from the Delhi University. He was working as Marketing Manager in a Delhi-based private company," he added.

In another case, the police of New Delhi district arrested one Obiefuna Uchechukwi Joseph (27) with around 12 gm cocaine worth nearly Rs 52,000 in the international market.

"The police laid a trap near the Ashoka Hotel in Niti Marg and intercepted Joseph when he approached there to deliver a consignment," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Vijay Singh.
