2 officials among 3 people booked for fraud by SVO in J-K

The State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) has booked three persons including two officials for issuing a loan of Rs 5 lakh to a man who allegedly mortgaged land owned another person using fraudulent revenue documents.

An inquiry conducted by the SVO into the complaint of one Shri Dev Dutt of Chak Chilla village in Jammu has revealed that Mohmmad Rashid the then Patwari Halqa had entered into a "criminal conspiracy" with one Shashi Paul Khajuria and Parmod Sharma the then Branch Manager of J&K Grameen Bank at Surinsar, an SVO spokesperson said.

By allegedly abusing their official positions, a fraud and manipulated revenue extract of the complainant's land at village Chak Chilla was issued in favour of Shashi Paul Khajuria, he said.
 

The documents were prepared and a loan of Rs 5 lakh for purchase of tractor was released from J&K Grameen Bank, Surinsar, in favour of Khajuria against the land of the complainant without his knowledge, the spokesperson said.

The entry in this respect has been made in relevant revenue record on March 18, 2011, he said.

By acting in this manner, Mohd Rashid in league with Parmod Sharma and others have abused their official position and thereby conferred undue benefit upon the beneficiary, the spokesperson said.

A case has been registered in the SVO, Jammu on the prima facie establishment of offences by Mohd Rashid, the then Patwari Halqa of Chak Chilla, Parmod Sharma Branch Manager of J&K Grameen Bank in Surinsar and Shashi Paul Khajuria, he said.
