Two persons were today arrested with 700 gram brown sugar, worth lakhs of rupees, in Baramulla district of north Kashmir, a police spokesperson said.
A police party intercepted a car near Hadipora village of Sopore, 55 kms from here, and recovered 700 gram of brown sugar during search of the vehicle, he said.
The two persons identified as Ashiq Khan and Nazir Ahmad who were travelling in the vehicle were arrested, he said.
A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act was registered against the duo, the Spokesperson said, adding that further investigation is on in this connection.
