Two officers from Kolkata Police arrived here today to enquire into the attempt to smuggle 54 kg gold worth Rs 16.5 crore through Kempegowda Airport here last night.
The gold was seized from three persons when they arrived by a flight from Kolkata.
"Kolkata police had arrested one person, said to be an associate of the trio. Therefore, we had informed them about it and two police officials from that city arrived here today to investigate the matter," DCP Crime Abhishek Goel said.

Goel said Police Commissioner Raghavendra Auradkar got a tip-off about the huge cache of gold on the flight and together with airport officials, seized it from the trio.
Police said the three persons, all hailing from Tamil Nadu, were not carrying relevant documents to support their claim they had bought it from a bank in Mumbai and produced a photocopy of the 'purchase receipt'.
