Two policemen posted in the Dwarka district were suspended for alleged inaction against illicit liquor and drug sellers operating in their area, an official said today.
The action was taken after the legislator of the area and RWA members complained of illegal liquor and drug sellers operating in Bindapur's JJ colony and Sector-1 Dwarka, the police said.
Subsequently, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse ordered a secret vigilance inquiry in these areas. It was found that these allegations were true, the police said.
Following this, a constable of Dwarka (south) and a head constable of Dabri, who had been posted in their beats for a long time, were suspended. Along with them, six to eight policemen in total from both the police stations were also sent to district line, he said
Meanwhile, a show-cause notice has been demanded from their supervising inspector.
