Two policemen were suspended on the charges of facilitating illegal mining here, police said today.
On the complaints of illegal mining on the banks of Bagey river in the forest areas here, senior police officials were yesterday sent on the spot who found six tractors laden with sand, Superintendent of Police Sripati Misra said.
Prima facie Majuta police chowki In-charge Ayodhya Prasad Prajapati and Head Constable Gulab Misra were found involved in the activities and have been placed under suspension, he said.
Further probe is underway in the matter, the SP added.
