2 poll officials killed as car falls into gorge in Ukhand

Two persons returning from poll duty were killed when the in which they were travelling plunged into a gorge in Nalupani area of the district in the wee hours today.

The accident took place around 1 AM when the car was returning from poll duty at Dhauntari in Gangotri Assembly constituency, Bhatwadi SDM Nikita Khandelwal said.

30-year-old Abhishek Chauhan from Chakrata and Pramod (32) were killed on the spot, she said.

Police and SDRF personnel recovered the bodies with the help of locals after being informed about the mishap, the SDM said.
