District administration have registered an FIR against two well-known private schools of Ghaziabad after they increased fee without seeking prior permission from a committee constituted to look into the matter.

District Magistrate SVS Ranga Rao yesterday imposed Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) in the district owing to the parents' protest over fee hike by the various private schools and formed a committee to look into the issue.

The DM had told schools that if they increased fee without getting prior approval from committee, it would be assumed as the violation of the Section 144 of CrPC.

Police said that ADM (city) Raksh Pal Singh has registered the FIR against the schools.

"As per DM's directives, schools cannot increase fee without getting prior approval from the committee set up by the District Magistrate. But both the schools didn't seek any prior approval and increased the fee," ADM (city) Raksh Pal Singh told PTI.
