2 professors suspended for dereliction of duty

Two assistant professors of a government college, including one who was also an in-charge principal, were suspended for alleged dereliction of duty in Chhattisgarh's Kawardha district, officials said.

The Higher Education Department issued the suspension orders of the assistant professors A P Tigga (Political Science) and Dr A C Verma (Chemistry) of Government PG College Kawardha yesterday following complaints of dereliction of duty against them, a government statement said today.

Tigga was also the in-charge principal of the college.

They were suspended under provisions of Chhattisgarh Civil Services (conduct) Rules-1965, after being found guilty following a preliminary probe, the release said.
 

Tigga will be attached with Government College Koriya, while Dr Verma will be attached with the Government PG College Dantewada during their suspension, it added.
