Two Rajya Sabha seats from Punjab will fall vacant in July after the end of term of Ambika Soni (Congress) and Balwinder Singh (Shiromani Akali Dal), an election office spokesman said today.
"The term of office of the two members of the Rajya Sabha elected from Punjab is due to expire on their retirement in the month of July," the spokesman said here.
Both the seats will fall vacant on July 4, he said, adding election to the seats will be held on June 11.

The notification for the polls will be issued on May 24 and the last date for making nominations is May 31, he said.
While the scrutiny of the nominations will be held on June 1, the last date for withdrawal of candidature is June 3.
Both Soni and Singh are likely to be re-nominated to the upper House by their respective political parties.
The term of 57 members of Rajya Sabha from 15 states is coming to an end between June and August and elections to the vacant posts will be held on June 11.
