2 returning from wedding reception killed in road accident

Two persons returning from a wedding reception in neighbouring Madhya Pradesh were killed when their vehicle collided with a lorry in the town's Kaval Nager area today, police said.

According to an eyewitness, a Jeep carrying eight persons back from a wedding reception collided head-on with a lorry today noon in Kaval Nager of Anantpura police station area. Two of the occupants were killed and as many of them critically injured.

Assistant Sub Inspector of Police Satayanarayan Jhangid said the deceased were identified as Kanwarlal Banjara (32) and Rakesh Saini (20). Raghuveer and Giraj received severe injuries in the accident.
 

The injured are undergoing treatment at Maharao Bheem Singh hospital here.

Police have seized the truck and a case of careless driving has been lodged against its driver, who managed to flee the spot after the mishap.
