: Two scan centres and a hospital in the district were sealed today by National Health Services and the state Health services department for violating the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Technique (Prohibition of Sex Selection Act), 1994.
The two scan centres are at Oddanchattiram and the hospital in this city, officials said.
Some documents were seized from these places in a raid carried out by NHS Joint Commissioner Gurunathan and Joint Director of Tamil Nadu health services Senguttuvan, along with police, they said.
The act bans prenatal sex determination.
