2 sentenced to 20-yr imprisonment for gangrape

A local fast track court today awarded a sentence of 20 years in jail to two persons and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on each of them in a 2013 gangrape case.

Fast Track Court Judge Vinod Rawat while awarding the sentence to Rishi and Raju Goswami ordered that fine recovered from the culprits will be given to the victim.

The victim, a native of Varanasi, was employed in a factory in Bulandshahr industrial area. On the evening of August 30, 2013, while she was returning back to her rented house in village Bamheta in Kavi Nagar area, she was accosted by her landlord's son Rishi and his friend Raju.
 

She was lured by the duo and was taken to an agricultural field near Wave City where both took their turns to rape her and later on threatened to kill her in case she disclosed it to anybody.

Upon complaint of the victim both accused were arrested.
