2 sentenced to life in jail in murder case

A local court has sentenced two persons to life imprisonment in connection with a 2012 murder case in Lalpur village of the district.

Additional District Judge Bankey Lal found cousin brothers Karamveer Singh and Vinod Singh guilty of murdering the former's employer, Narayan Singh, and awarded them life term along with a fine of Rs 25,000 each.

According to prosecution, Narayan had gone to Hodal village with Karmveer, who worked in his house, to purchase a buffalo.

When Narayan did not return, his nephew filed a missing report at Kosi Kalan Police Station.

Police later arrested Karamveer, who confessed to murdering Narayan with the help of Vinod and looting Rs 70,000 from him.
 

They later recovered the body, the weapon used in the crime and Rs 50,000 from their possession.
