Two students were killed and 18 others seriously injured when a bus overturned in Jalpaiguri district this afternoon.
The incident took place when the bus, in which over 30 students were returning from an examination centre after giving their secondary level exams at Jamaldaha in the district turned turtle near Jalpaiguri town.
As locals started rescue operations, two students were found dead while 18 others had to be taken to Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital.
An attending doctor said condition of the injured were serious but most of them were in stable condition.
While some of them were given first aid others went home with their parents.
The students were on way to neighbouring Coochbehar district.
