2 succumb to injuries in Lahore blast

At least 23 people were injured when two bombs went off in a market in Badami Bagh area of Lahore last night. Two of the injured died overnight in hospital, officials said.

According to witnesses and police, one explosive device was planted in a cart while another was hidden in a box of mangoes kept in a truck. People fled the market in panic after the two bombs went off within five minutes of each other.

Superintendent of Police Multan Khan blamed the attack on terrorists. No group claimed responsibility for the blasts.
