Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested along with 2.8 kg charas in Anantnag district of south Kashmir today.
The drug peddlers - Bashir Ahmad Bhat of Ganiepora and Mohammad Yousuf Naik of Hangal Gund - were arrested on a specific information from Mattan, 62 kms from here, on Srinagar-Pahalgam road, a police spokesman said.
Meanwhile, in another operation, the spokesman said police arrested two persons and recovered 30 kilograms of precious forest produce Tripatri from their possession in Kupwara district of north Kashmir.

Cab driver Nabeer Ahmad Mir of Kalarooch and Ghulam Mohammad Khan of Chootwari were arrested after police intercepted a private passenger vehicle at Machil near the Line of Control and recovered the banned rare medicinal herb, the spokesman said.
He said the duo were smuggling the forest produce when police intercepted them on a specific information.
