2 travel agents booked for duping youth

A case has been registered against two travel agents for allegedly duping a youth of Rs 1.75 lakh on the pretext of sending him abroad, police said today.

A case under Section 420 (cheating) of IPC was registered against the duo Kulwinder Singh and Satnam Singh at Rawalpindi police station here last evening, they said.

Lakhvir Chand from Sangatpur village has alleged that the duo took the money from him promising to send him to Canada but later they could not be contacted for any information and his money was not returned, they said.

He got in touch with the agents after seeing advertisement in a newspaper and the duo had promised to send him to Canada for Rs 5.50 lakhs, they said.
 

Lakhvir claimed that he has given Rs 1.75 lakh and his passport to the agents, promising to pay the remaining amount later but he wasn't send to Canada, they said.

The duo has been booked for fraud but no arrests have been made so far in this connection, they said.
