Two senior judicial officers of Uttar Pradesh were today placed under suspension by the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court following complaints that they had allegedly misused their power and position, court sources said today.

Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud passed the order based on the recommendations of an administrative committee of judges of the High Court which had perused the report of a preliminary inquiry against the two judicial officers - Rajan Chaudhary and A K Singh.

While Chaudhary had been posted as District and Sessions Judge of Farrukhabad, Singh was an ADJ at Badaun.

After the suspension of the two judicial officers based upon the preliminary inquiry, a regular inquiry has been initiated against them for further action, the sources added.
