2 Uzbek women arrested at Indo-Nepal border

Two women, both nationals of Uzbekistan, were arrested at India-Nepal border area here as they were trying to enter the country without valid papers, a senior official said.

Kul Nara and Kul Khoyu Gufurwa, both from Uzbekistan's capital Tashkent, were found roaming in Kolhi bus stand area in the district last evening when the police asked for their details and passport.

They had no passports and were later arrested by the immigration department in Sonauli area, Superintendent of Police Shiv Hari Meena said, adding that the women were on way to India from Kathmandu (Nepal).

A case has been registered and intelligence agencies have been informed about the matter, Meena said.
