Two women have allegedly committed suicide by hanging themselves to death in separate incidents in the city, police said today.

In the first incident, a 33-year-old woman, native of Aligarh district, hanged herself from a ceiling fan at her rented accommodation where she was staying with her cousin.

Preeti Singh, who was employed with a private company in Noida sector 62, was found hanging by her cousin Jitender alias Deepak, police said.

A suicide note has been recovered in which Preeti held herself responsible for the extreme step.

Her body was sent for postmortem.

In another incident, a newly-married 20-year-old woman hanged herself last night in Mustafabad colony in Loni.

Her father has alleged that she was forced to kill herself as she was tortured for dowry by her in-laws.
