The women were standing by the road side when the speeding truck laden with iron-rods lost control and overturned, trapping Premshila Devi (35) and Kanchan Devi (30) underneath, Deputy superintendent of Police (DSP) Suresh Kumar said.
Local poeple beat up the driver and damaged the truck in protest.
The protestors also blocked G T Road demanding adequate compensation to the families of the victims.
