2 years after marriage women alleges rape, forceful conversion

Two years after her marriage, a woman registered a case against her "husband" alleging that she was abducted, raped and forced to convert in Ajmer city of Rajasthan.

The man was arrested and produced before Magistrate today who remanded the accused to three-day police custody.

The woman alleged that after her marriage, she was raped and later forced to convert, police said today.

"She gave a complaint to SP yesterday after which a case was registered and the accused was arrested," said Nem Singh, SHO of Christian Ganj police station.

The accused was booked under Sections 376 (rape), 295-A (acts intended to outrage religious feelings) and 366 (kidnapping woman to compel her marriage) of Indian Penal Code.
 

The accused's father and brothers have also been made accused in the case and are being searched, the police added.
