2 youths arrested for thefts at Lutyens' Zone

Two youths have been arrested by the Delhi Police for their alleged involvement in thefts at the high security Lutyens' Bungalow Zone's MP residential area in the national capital yesterday.

Following the arrests of Mohammed Saleem (22) and Kamal Singh (27) police claimed to have busted a gang who were committing thefts in the area falling under the Parliament Street police station.

Police said the accused were arrested "red handed" after a search operation was launched on the basis of a PCR call. Both the accused are in judicial custody.

A team comprising officers of the Parliament Street police station and North Avenue Police Post apprehended the duo on being informed about a theft of gate lights from "Bungalow No 30 at Gurdwara Rakab Gunj Road".
 

"The search team apprehended the duo yesterday while they were trying to run away from Bungalow No 20 and recovered the two stolen fate lights," police said.
